In the Annual Wage Review 2015–16 decision, the Expert Panel for annual wage reviews (Expert Panel) proposed that a review of the transitional instruments that must be dealt with as part of annual wage reviews and the existing arrangements for employees with disability be the subject of a preliminary hearing for the Annual Wage Review 2016–17 (2016–17 Review).
The Expert Panel also indicated that the preliminary hearing proposed by United Voice into whether the Expert Panel should adopt a medium-term target would also form part of the preliminary hearing for the 2016–17 Review.
As outlined in the timetable, the preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday 24 October in Sydney.
In a Statement issued on Monday 19 September, three background papers were released covering material in relation to the following matters:
Interested parties are invited to file submissions in response to these matters by 5 pm Monday 10 October 2016 and submissions in reply by 5 pm Monday 17 October 2016. Submissions can be filed electronically at awr@fwc.gov.au.
